Cybus is recognized as a Challenger in the Green Quadrant on Industrial Data Management Solutions

Independent research firm positions Cybus Connectware as a relevant DataOps and Industrial Data Management solution for enterprise-wide, complex industrial data integration

Hamburg, January 24 2025 – Cybus has been identified as a “Challenger” among the 11 most prominent industrial data management (IDM) solutions in a new market analysis by independent analyst firm Verdantix. The report “Green Quadrant: Industrial Data Management Solutions 2025” rates Cybus Connectware as a robust and scalable solution for the industry. It particularly emphasizes the ability to implement quickly, support production-critical data flows and use Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) for easy scaling and repeatability of projects.

Cybus recognized as “Challenger” in the Industrial Data Management Solutions category by independent research institute Verdantix

The independent study evaluates the technical capabilities and market position of the leading providers in the IDM sector. According to Verdantix, Cybus offers industrial companies a robust and reliable DataOps layer for IT and OT systems with its IDM solution. “Cybus’s DevOps approach brings the ability to rapidly scale and adapt to large projects – ideal for complex facilities focused on OT data aggregation […],” stated Joe Lamming, Senior Analyst, Verdantix in the report.

Strong capabilities in key areas of cybersecurity, connectivity and scalability

According to the Verdantix analysis, Cybus Connectware proved its capabilities in the production-critical categories of cybersecurity, scalability and industrial data integration: Through access control, the decoupling of data collection and data usage, and a containerized deployment architecture, Connectware provides a robust security infrastructure for production-critical environments. Verdantix emphasizes that Connectware enables the precise and scalable setup of OT DataOps through text-based configuration. This enables bidirectional data flow and the efficient provision of payload to target systems. Thanks to the support of CI/CD pipelines, changes can be implemented quickly and efficiently without affecting the production environment. The report shows that in the area of data acquisition, Connectware supports comprehensive connectors to PLC systems such as Siemens SIMATIC S7, Modbus and OPC-UA, as well as MQTT via the CybusMQ broker, which is specifically designed for low-latency, production-critical applications.

Large integration projects in just a few weeks

Verdantix defines the evaluation criteria for the Green Quadrant for IDM software based on a combination of interviews with several customers, employee expertise, interviews with software executives and other research. The customer survey shows that Cybus’s solution is particularly suitable for the rapid integration of multiple locations. Cybus worked on a major German battery factory project that required a bi-directional IT/OT integration solution for millions of data points within a tight schedule and with minimal customization. “Cybus completed the integration of the entire gigafactory in six weeks,” as stated in the Verdantix report, “with six use cases up and running by the end of this period, integrating all machines, MESs, building management systems (BMSs) and energy management within Connectware.” The company has proven that it can also implement large integration projects in record time.

Jasmin Skenderi, Chief Technology Officer of Cybus, comments: “Our positioning in the Green Quadrant shows that with Cybus Connectware we have developed a solution that not only meets the high demands of modern enterprise customers. Rather, as a “Challenger”, we provoke new standards for industrial data management: our solution brings enterprise-ready scalability, flexibility and cybersecurity to manufacturing and makes them easily and quickly accessible thanks to future-oriented technologies.”
