Hamburg, den 19.03.2025 – At the Smart Manufacturing Excellence Summit 2025, which took place at the Hilton Munich Airport from 12 to 14 March 2025, Cybus shared an impressive demonstration of how companies can master the increasing complexity of their IT and OT landscapes in manufacturing. Under the motto “Mastering the complexity of digitalization: turning chaos to control”, the focus was on practical solutions that drive digital change in the industry.
Today’s manufacturing is faced with a multitude of heterogeneous IT systems–including MES, ERP, LIMS, UNS and cloud solutions–that need to be seamlessly integrated with traditional OT systems. This challenging environment requires innovative and flexible data integration approaches to ensure efficient control and monitoring of production processes. An inadequate data infrastructure leads to inefficient processes, high integration costs and delayed roll-outs. This has a lasting impact on the speed of digitalisation and competitiveness.
In his keynote speech, Peter Sorowka, CEO of Cybus, explained how a standardised data layer reduces complexity and enables efficient integration of systems. This architecture provides a clear, scalable structure for industrial data streams and creates end-to-end control of all production systems. The advantages of this approach include:
In addition to theoretical concepts, Cybus presents success stories from large industrial companies that show how factories can accelerate their digitalisation with a modern data infrastructure. The examples of global rollouts across multiple sites include the networking of greenfield gigafactories and the integration of several brownfield production facilities of a German household appliance manufacturer. They show that it is even possible to integrate IT and OT across multiple sites within a month.
The software company Cybus specializes in data integration for large production environments. The software solution Connectware is specifically developed for enterprise companies that want to efficiently integrate complex manufacturing environments and reliably manage data flows. The solution offers efficient integration and production-critical reliability through highly available and low-latency data streams. It supports a scalable and unified architecture across multiple factory sites. With Cybus, globally active companies such as Miele, Liebherr and KRONE are improving the efficiency and sustainability of their production processes.
