Accelerating innovations in the battery industry

Capgemini and Cybus announce collaboration

With a shared view of the future, Tammo Schwindt (CTO Manufacturing Germany, Capgemini) and Peter Sorowka (CEO, Cybus) officially sealed the partnership of both companies. Cybus and Capgemini Germany join forces to transform the battery manufacturing industry: The collaboration addresses the industry’s specific need to scale innovations, adapt to rapidly changing market demands, and ensure sustainable growth.

Today, we are accelerating our client’s transformation process to software-defined factories. Indispensable, independent and scalable data layers are a key component of this transformation, especially in today’s heterogeneous factory environments. Our teams are happy to collaborate with Cybus to bring data convergence and innovation at scale to our client’s shop floor“, comments Tammo Schwindt, CTO Manufacturing Germany, Capgemini, when signing the partnership agreement.

Accelerating transformation in battery manufacturing

Battery manufacturers face significant challenges in setting up new and extending existing factories: High number of simultaneous innovation projects, tight project timelines and stringent regulatory requirements for large-scale traceability. Manufacturers need the capability to quickly introduce new innovations into existing production environments, which requires the right organizational processes, scalable technical architectures and operational excellence. The collaboration between Cybus and Capgemini in Germany provides the necessary support for this change.

A holistic approach to infrastructure and operations

One of the critical aspects of this collaboration is the support provided to battery manufacturers in setting up greenfield environments. By leveraging combined expertise in business, processes, and technology, we help manufacturers implement new infrastructure, streamline operations, and develop a skilled workforce. This integrated approach ensures the creation of flexible, scalable production sites that are primed for innovation and operational excellence.

Leveraging combined expertise for large scale data integration

Capgemini’s team in Germany enhances its capabilities by leveraging Cybus’ Connectware, a data integration hub, to support extensive data rollouts and operations. This collaboration will provide customer solutions based on a streamlined and scalable software architecture, ensuring manufacturers can fully leverage their digital transformation from concept to rollout.

Factories are not yet designed for rapid innovation and data-driven decision making. To create an OT-IT convergence that delivers sustainable value to business, there is, alongside scalable technology, often a lack of capacity and the need to develop new skills. Through our partnership with Capgemini, we can ensure that our customers receive comprehensive support in this area.” – Peter Sorowka, CEO Cybus.

Together, Cybus and Capgemini help battery cell manufacturers speed up innovation cycles, driving efficiency and competitiveness. Manufacturers interested in experiencing Connectware firsthand are invited to visit the live demonstrator at SPS – smart production solutions exhibition in Nuremberg from September 12-14th hosted by Cybus. Hall 5, Booth 450.
